Step one of fixing our feet means we get a cast on our left leg. It will be from the knee down and will position our foot to where the tendon will stretch. (Ouch in my book). This means that the Dr. will have an easier time during the surgery since the tendon will then be stretched over her foot and permanently secured.
Maran knows what is going to happen and seems to understand. She can tell you which foot is being worked on and that she is going to have a tendon transfer. Much more than that and you get a lot of jibber jabber.
She is happy that she will 'fall down less" and that it will be easier to get shoes. We now have to buy two pairs of shoes since both feet are significantly different sizes. Thankfully Stride Rite gives us a "DEAL"...well in their minds they do but it is worth it!

It is incredible how fast she can run with her feet turned in. She does well until she trips herself. Lord help you if you are chasing her to get to some food first as you more than likely won't win.
We have watched her run, walk and play and can tell that she really never knew that something was wrong with her feet. It is her world and all she knows. We go to the Pediatric Orthopedist at 2:30 for our cast. She hopes that she gets to pick the color. It will be either pink or purple. (Now that's a surprise).
