Our Greatest BLESSINGS Call Us Mommy & Daddy

We are In Flight

Greetings from 30,000 feet.  After a little more than two hours of sleep we got up early and left for the airport (earlier than we had planned).  No luck on the first class upgrade but that was a blessing.  We are in the emergency exit row and it is great.  I could lay down on the nasty floor in front of us if I wanted.  Of course I am sitting beside a man who is large.  NOT FAT just big.  I get love taps every so often but he doesn't realize it because he is asleep.  He got on the plane with a WONDERFUL smelling sandwich that is turning to muck in the overhead bin.  Instead of the dead bagel I should have snagged his meal.  Could go for some chips right now.  Glad I dropped some pounds before this trip or Big Dude and I would have had some further issues.  It's all good though.

David said to me in the car "I haven't been this tired since studio".  In college he was in studio all the time and pulled all  nighter's quite frequently.  Our eyes are totally bloodshot and we look like we have pulled an all night drinking binge.  We have had MAYBE 9 hours of sleep the past four nights.  When you are as old as we are it's tough.  It is worth it though. Snickerdoodle Luke finally fell asleep around midnight last night.  He was so cuddly.  Guess he got over his flu shot.

About a three hour layover in San Francisco so we will hit the Club Lounge for some re juicing of the computers and maybe a celebratory glass of vino.  My body has no clue what time it is let alone the day so this couldn't hurt.  HA HA.  We haven't thought of anything we left behind yet except Luke.  Maran's LIFE BOOK arrived yesterday.  Boy you can tell I was tired when I finished it.  Two INCREDIBLY special people, Nammy and Pop Pop, got a little slighted in the book.  It was not intentional but I felt so bad.  Had I done the book a month ago when David asked me to then this would not have occurred.  I feel so bad.  However, when Maran meets them she will know how special they are.  Never have there been two grandparents so full of love and so selfless with their time and energy not only towards their kids but their grandkids as well.  It is an honor to have them in my life and an even bigger honor to call them my in-laws.

Our tummies are upset due to lack of sleep and slight nerves.  I wonder if Maran is left handed?  I wonder if she can wink or curl her tongue? (Everyone in our family can except me -- another warped issue I have).  We located everything we were looking for except my small camera case.  No biggie it was made in China so if I can't get one when I get there then there's trouble.

We gave Luke a portable digital camera before we left.  He loves it.  Who knows what he has photographed.  I am hoping that some of them are good.

FLU SHOT MEMORIES:    War wounds found on mom (me) from the Flu shot yesterday.  I have a huge bruise on my arm where Luke was clinging to me so tight and a huge one about the size of a baseball on my upper thigh.  I look like I have been beat.  The kid was clinging for life. I will never forget that scream and those tears,  Let's hope he doesn't remember it!  Daddy will take both Luke & Maran next year... FOR SURE.

Off to do some thank you notes for Luke's birthday gifts that will be mailed when we land.  Of course I should have printed the spreadsheet out to make it easier but why do such a thing? That would take organization!  I am thinking that my "PROCRASTINATION" that I used to totally thrive under is maybe not so good any more.  At least I can say my 'Gangsta' is clean.  Like a clean car  really matters at this point right?  OK just digging for something I may have done right before I left.  Will update as soon as we can.  Maybe from San Francisco...you just never know what we may get into there though.  Good thing we aren't leaving the airport!

Thanks for your love and prayers. Your comments keep us going.  Our blog will be monitored (maybe by us if VNC works).  We will try to post as often as we can.  I apologize in advance for any grammatical and spelling errors as exhaustion has its honors.  Who knows Lil' Miss Sassafras may be blogging by the end of next week.   Tired and restless, we remain the seekers of the stork.....FROM CHINA TO CAROLINA.
